Plume-RT uses local real-time meteorological conditions, regional weather forecast information, continuous emissions monitoring system (CEMS) data and regulatory accepted CALMET/CALPUFF dispersion models to predict ground-level pollutant concentrations. Dispersion modelling conducted in real-time represents a state-of-the-art approach for managing air quality for permanent facilities. Modelling occurs continuously over the modelling domain for the current hour and a 24-hour forecast is provided which assists decision-makers in pro-actively and effectively managing criteria air contaminant (CAC) releases (i.e., NOx, SOx, CO, etc.).
Plume-RT has the flexibility to model multiple sources, upsets to flare and additional "What-if?" scenarios. Continuous modelling combined with a stack top temperature reduction program can result in significant cost savings and the reduction of overall plant emissions.
